Patina

Preserve your Copper’s Appeal with a Custom Patina

As copper ages, it naturally develops a patina – a coloured film that forms on the surface of the copper to protect it from corrosion. This is what causes copper roofs to turn the rich green you often see in old architecture. In dry climates, untreated copper is more likely to turn a flat black or deep brown.

Copper X can eliminate this discolouration by applying a custom patina to your exterior copper that will lock in its beauty for decades.

Rather than allow your copper to patina naturally, we’ll pre-treat it chemically with one of our proprietary patinas – such as an elegant Muted Bronze. We’ll then apply the same ultra-durable protective coating that’s used to protect the hulls of ocean-faring vessels and the precise circuitry of interplanetary vehicles.
